Applications are invited for the AGNES-BAYER Science Foundation Research Grant for Biodiversity Conservation & Sustainable Agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa”. The grant seeks to enable doctoral students from sub-Saharan African countries to undertake outstanding research activities in the field of Biodiversity conservation and sustainable agriculture. The Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF) works to strengthen the health research capacity of scientists in Sub-Saharan Africa who are engaged in tackling the sub-region’s significant health challenges. AREF is calling for applications from women who are emerging biomedical/health researchers in Sub-Saharan Africa to participate in its Essential Grant Writing Skills Workshop. Applicants seeking to benefit from this workshop series should be at a stage in their research career where they are actively seeking independent funding but have yet to secure funding necessary to support your research independence.  Newton International Fellowship – Closing Date: Wednesday, 16th June 2021

The fellowship scheme is for non-UK scientists who are at an early stage of their research career and wish to conduct research in the UK.  2021-22 Reckitt-LSHTM PhD Studentships on Hygiene & Health in Sub-Saharan Africa - Closing Date: Sunday, 11th July 2021

The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) invite applications from candidates from Sub-Saharan Africa for fully-funded 4-year PhD studentships to start a research degree programme in January 2022.  IEG Fellowships for Doctoral Students - Closing Date: Sunday, 15th August 2021

Applications are invited from PhD students who have at least a Masters level degree in history, theology or another discipline which works historically. Applicants must have been pursuing their doctorate for no more than three years at the time of taking up the fellowship, though exceptions may be made in exceptional circumstances. The Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) Program is a capacity building project by the AfDB and Japan that provides a two-year scholarship awards to highly achieving African graduate students to enable them to undergo post-graduate studies in selected priority development areas on the continent and Japan.
